With the unfortunate demise of Escribano Sports Team at the end of the 2022 season, this left me in a very uncomfortable position of not knowing if I would have a team to ride for in 2023.
Thankfully I was given a chance by Henry Latimer and Ryan Visser from TAAP Endura cycling team after speaking to my good friend (and now teammate) Marco Overbeeke’s father Marein about how the team operated and how he regarded the team having seen Marco in the team’s environment and using some of my own research on the team. I knew that this was a team that would be a great place for me to thrive back in the British racing scene after an absence of 18 months away in Spain.
I had a 40 minute conversation with Henry learning about the teams plans and aspirations and for him to learn more about me and for me to sell myself to the team as to why they should give me a chance on their established team.
I’m incredibly proud to wear the jersey as this team saw something in me and gave me a shot on a whim but I’m more motivated than ever to prove that they were right to give me that chance and hopefully we will see great results together for certainly the 2023 season and I hope for the future as well.
A huge thank you to Henry and Ryan and the whole team for making me feel so welcome and at home in my new colours and thank you to Marein for your insights to lead me into my new team for the season.
2023 season is nearly upon us and I have a feeling it will be one to remember. Thanks to my coach Tim Ramsden for your amazing support throughout the training process over winter, thanks also to Tony Henderson for keeping me as mobile as possible ready for racing and thanks also to Pedal Potential.
